Penguin Plunge Fundraiser for Happy Hearts Working!

Freeze for a reason; take the Plunge! Join us on Sat. 3/11/23 at Lake of the Forest in an effort to raise funds for Happy Hearts of Bonner Springs. They're a non-profit program that services adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. HHW assists them with securing job and volunteer opportunities, along with programs designed for life skills and social skills development. Their overall goal is to offer experience in real-life situations. 

What is a Penguin Plunge, and how can you get involved? 

TAKE THE PLUNGE: Register to take the Plunge! Get sponsored by friends, family, co-workers, your employer, etc. to dash into the lake! Yes, you read that right. You will seek sponsorships leading up to the event by asking individuals what they will commit to your jump. This can be any amount for any budget! Donors have a few options to submit their donations. Donate online & include the Plunge-er name in the notes section at https://www.happyheartsworking.org/checkout/donate?donatePageId=59b18ff4f9a61e8350a8a449 or by writing a check to Happy Hearts Working or Venmo @HappyHearts-Working - Ask them to include your name in the description

SPONSOR A PLUNGE: Know someone adventurous? Nominate them to take the Plunge! Help them seek sponsorships. Have a business? This is an excellent opportunity for it to get involved. Anyone can also sponsor more than one individual; spread out the support! 

SPREAD EVENT AWARENESS: Help us get the word out! We need your help in making this a successful event. Share the flyer or the event link on social media. Text and talk about it with friends, family, co-workers, etc.

ATTEND THE EVENT: Everyone is invited to the event! Watch the Plunge, meet the Happy Hearts staff and associates, and most importantly, have fun! There will be opportunities to make direct donations and make purchases that support HHW.

**Sponsorship donations are due the day of the event. Volunteers must be 18+ to take the Plunge unless a parent or guardian is present. BSPD and EMS will be on-site to help with safety precautions. The water is expected to be cold. Please don't participate if you have certain health conditions.  The Clubhouse will be open to only those post-plunge to change into dry clothes.**
